Nitrate
tester VITATEST VD-2007
Short
description. Technology of work of device is underlaid in
the method of ionometry, consisting in the instantaneous measuring
of amount of nitrate-ions by a capacity cell in the electric chain
of alternating current of high-purity.
A built-in ion-selective probe, electric chart and microprocessor,
serve for measuring of conductivity (degrees of dissociation)
of substances of measureable vegetables, fruit and plants (herbares).
Information from a probe and charts is compared to the “programed”
levels, which correspond levels, to got in laboratory conditions,
what determines a quickness and relative exactness of obtaining
result.
A nitrate-tester
allows to conduct measurings in 9 types of green-stuffs and fruit:
water-melon, egg-plant, cabbage, potato, carrot, cucumber, pepper,
tomato, beet.

Prepare
to work:
For setting of power supply elements:
- Take off a protective cap from a corps.
- Open the back lid of compartment of power supply.
- Set the power supply elements, observing polarity.
- Close a lid.
For switch on of device turn the calibration regulator of device
upwards to the click. For a switch off - turn a regulator to the
click in reverse direction.
For verification of charge of power supply elements push the button
9 and not release it. Revolve a regulator 3 upwards to support.
A pointer on an indicator must be in extreme right position (near
a mark «battery») or in the right half of red area. If a pointer
did not enter in this sector, will replace the power supply elements.
Leadthrough
of measurings of nitrates: For example, you need to check
up a white cabbage. For this purpose will clean a head from the
damaged leaves.
- Switch on a device. Push the button of calibration 7 and not
releasing it rotate of regulator 3 obtain, that a pointer was
set between the coloured strips (green and red) under inscription
TEST on an indicator 2.
- Release the button - a pointer must deviate to beginning of
scale in the district of mark "O".
- Take off a protective cap. Enter a metallic probe in head of
cabbage holding the corps of nitrate sensor apeak. You will look,
where a pointer deviated.
- Do an analogical test not turning off nitrate sensor in the
layer of leaves of head from one side, sticking a probe towards
the center of head. Compare results.
For
verification of other vegetables conduct the analogical pre-tuning,
involving the buttons 5-8, which correspond the type of vegetable
or fruit. Before the test of other vegetable (fruit) - wipe a
probe by a serviette or dry clean fabric.
Interpretation
of results of measurings:
Green zone. If a pointer at placing of probe in the layer
of product is in a «green zone» - content of nitrates is insignificant.
Yellow zone. If a pointer at placing of probe in the
layer of product is in a «yellow zone» - content of nitrates depends
on the type of product and an user must compare results with the
value of maximum allowed consentration.
Example. If you measured a cheap restaurant and got a value in
a yellow area equal 500 (mg/kg), comparing with the value of maximum
possible concentration (for a cheap restaurant there are 400 mgs/kg)
evidently, that content of nitrates is practically equal to the
maximum concentration. Consequently, a product can be used, but
after cleaning and heat treatment which will reduce content of
nitrates on 20-25%.
Orange zone. If a pointer at placing of probe in the
layer of product is in a «orange zone» - content of nitrates depends
on the type of product and an user must compare results with the
value of maximum allowed concentration.
If a pointer stands in orange area in the beginning (on the left)
- it is recommended to conduct that careful washing and cooking
of these vegetables or fruit with that to reduce the concentration
of nitrates in them. If a pointer stands in the middle, or in
right part of orange area - it is recommended to hold back from
the use of such products.
Red zone. If after calibration and test of pointer stands
in a red zone - that using such vegetables or fruit is forbidden!
For the receipt of more exact results the leadthrough of analogical
test is recommended on a that product, but sticking the probe
of the elsewhere probed vegetable or fruit and thus to avoid errors
and fortuity at verification.
When you will stick a probe in a product, will draw attention,
that you by chance did not displace fingers or palm tuning of
regulator 3, which is located from one side on the corps of device.
Control
of acidity of soil:
Soil for a test must not be dry or loose.
- Press and hold the button 9.
- By the rotation of regulator 3 obtain, that a pointer was set
between the coloured strips (green and red) under inscription
TEST on an indicator 2.
- Release the button 9 - a pointer must deviate to beginning of
lower scale - more left or at the mark of "4".
- Enter a probe in soil on a depth no less than 15 mm - a pointer
on an indicator will rotin the value of acidity of soil in units
of pH.
At the index of pH soil less than 5 (sour soil) plant badly assimilate
fertilizer, their growth is slowed, heavy metals can accumulate
in fruit and vegetable products. For the increase of pH of soil
it is necessary before planting to conduct liming in obedience
to agrotechnical rules, to the level of norm for a plant. |
